Dubai Miracle Garden
Dubai is famous for its incredible modern architecture. And despite expectations, the Emirates never cease to amaze me.
I ended up in a fairy tale where the main character is a flower.
Imagine a meeting with more than 150 million flowers…
Here is the gate, and entering, music rushes into my head: „Waltz of the Flowers“ by P. I. Tchaikovsky.
It's like stumbling upon a gala concert of all kinds of flowers, shyly hidden behind a fortress wall framing the park-garden.
However, the heat persistently reminded me that it was not the magical night of Christmas and that I was far from the plot of the ballet „The Nutcracker“.
If only it wasn't for the dry heat, like in an oven.
How will the flowers waltz?!
Wise, excellent professionals and hardworking people have taken care of everything...
A piece of advice from me
Opening a large bracket as a recommendation: book the earliest possible time slot so you can enjoy the aromas and the floral extravaganza.
After 12 hours, it gets terrifying.
Toward evening is also suitable, but the stuffiness is immense.
Dubai Miracle Garden operates seasonally due to the climatic features of the region. The usual season is from autumn to spring, when temperatures allow the flowers to survive and visitors to walk around the garden. During the summer, the park closes for seasonal renovation and preparation for the next season.
During the current season, the garden has opening hours that may change depending on the season and days, so it is a good idea to check the official schedule before visiting.
You can stay inside as long as you want.
A fairy tale of flowers in the middle of the desert
The captivating tale of flowers arranged with endless imagination is astonishing.
Geographically, the UAE is located on a desert peninsula. The region is arid, with scarce natural water resources and harsh climatic conditions.
And suddenly they undertake this grandiose endeavor.
That is no accident.
No way.
The Emirates have long been investing not only in infrastructure, but also in tourism, entertainment, landscaping, and the creation of attractions to transform the country into a global tourist destination.
The high standard of living and oil revenues will not last forever. That is why people are thinking and acting in the direction of landmarks and tourism.
On the other hand, there is a drive to improve the surrounding space – parks and gardens, urban landscaping, and enhancing the living environment.
The UAE is keen to impress the world, and the Miracle Garden is one of the brightest examples of this.
It is becoming one of Dubai's key tourist attractions and continues to change with every season.
A few interesting facts
The garden was built in just two years. It is located far from the coastal part of the emirate – in the Dubailand area, in Al Barsha South.
Today, Dubai Miracle Garden spans 72,000 square meters and features over 150 million flowers in various arrangements. In the 2025–2026 season, more than 120 flower species and over 50 thematic displays are featured.
The garden presents a huge variety of flowers, but petunias are among the most used. Skillfully complemented with geranium, coleus, marigold, and many other plants.
It is unique how out of these otherwise modest, brightly colored flowers they can create architectural sculptures: retro cars, trains, cubes, hearts, stars, various circles, pyramids, bridges, arched paths, colorful umbrellas. I even saw a small town made of flowers.
It is unique that every season the floral motifs change, so that returning visitors can experience a completely new experience.
And precisely this is one of the keys to the garden's success – it is not a frozen exhibit. Every year, its creators change compositions, themes, and installations so that the visitor has a reason to return.
Dubai aims to attract millions of tourists every year, tempting many of them with its colorful gardens.
To protect this wonder from the harsh weather conditions, trees have been planted along its entire perimeter.
When the Emirates do something, they do it strategically and with foresight.
The Magic Garden is not just a botanical collection or a greenhouse in the traditional sense. It is a collection of multiple examples of floristic art, where plants are transformed into architecture, sculpture, and decor.
Its opening is on February 14, 2013 – Valentine's Day, which once again turns it into a landmark and becomes a good marketing strategy.
You will exclaim: a good marketing strategy!
The garden that constantly changes
Since its opening, the complex has constantly changed its form, but the trend toward improvement and the constant pursuit of a more stylish, beautiful, aesthetically pleasing, and timeless experience remain unchanged.
The park features an incredible variety of plant compositions.
It has its own lake and virtuoso floral sculptures.
What haven't I seen: flowerbeds shaping alleys, patterned arches and improvised waterfalls, giant floral clocks, flower vases, a female face, and a replica made of countless blossoms of architectural monuments.
The records of Dubai Miracle Garden
Miracle Garden has won a number of regional and international awards.
And here come the Guinness World Records.
In 2016, the garden received a record for the largest floral structure – an Airbus A380, measuring approximately 73 by 78 meters and nearly 22 meters high.
In 2018, the massive Mickey Mouse, standing 18.06 meters tall, received the record for the tallest supported topiary sculpture. Almost 1,000 plants and flowers were used to build it, and the structure weighs about 35 tons.
Even today, the floral Airbus A380 remains one of the garden's iconic attractions – its current composition uses more than 500,000 fresh flowers and living plants.
Water – the most important issue
Ecology, care for tomorrow, and the preservation of nature are paramount—everything is drip-irrigated.
And here comes one of the striking facts: treated wastewater is used for irrigation, allowing the valuable resource to be reused.
With such an area and such an amount of vegetation, this is by no means an insignificant question.
Because creating a garden in the middle of the desert is one thing.
Keeping her alive is a completely different story.
It is no coincidence that visitors who have already enjoyed this beauty, they call the park „The Eighth Wonder“.
And near the flowers – butterflies
The convenience of the tourist has also been taken into account.
The complex has a huge parking lot, commercial areas, souvenir shops, and an adjacent park... with butterflies.
I didn't have the energy for this park.
And I don't even like them – just thinking about how beautiful they are and how much damage they do to plants...
The passion for collecting insects, including butterflies, ended with my return from Africa to Europe.
It remained in childhood, with the knowledge and skills to make a herbarium.
Now I'm thinking about this hobby of mine with a certain amount of disgust...
For lepidopterology enthusiasts
Information for enthusiasts of lepidopterology – the science of butterflies and moths:
Dubai Butterfly Garden is located right next to the Miracle Garden and is a separate attraction housed in climate-controlled domes. The butterflies fly freely among visitors, and the exhibit also features an educational area dedicated to their life cycle and metamorphosis.
According to current information from the UAE tourism authorities, over 15,000 butterflies can be seen there.
All these beautiful creatures, thank goodness, are free and not pinned to cardboard with a pin.
For who knows how many times, the people of Dubai have thought strategically about the future: besides being one of the richest in exhibits, the center has aesthetic, entertaining, and scientific value.
It makes sense to combine the two gardens, but it must be kept in mind that they are two separate attractions.
Two gardens – one day
Arriving in Dubai, I recommend combining both gardens.
Provided you have healthy legs and a full day to spare.
The Dubai Miracle Garden was designed by Akar Landscaping and Agriculture Co., the company behind Al Ain Paradise near the border with Oman.
On the Arabian Peninsula, they are competing to create modern wonders.
With each passing year, the family of plants in the park grows!
New territories are being reclaimed from the desert through hard work, perseverance, and serious investments...
Its creators constantly implement new ideas and change the landscape, creating floral sculptures.
I have hardly managed to recreate the scale of Dubai Miracle Garden experienced in photos, but I gladly share them.
